Two Poly Students Invited to Take the

AMERICAN INVITATIONAL MATHEMATICS EXAMINATION

The Ingenuity Project at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute is pleased to announce that two 9th graders, Andrew K. and Albert H., have qualified to take the prestigious American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) on March 28, 2000.

Top scoring USA students on the AIME will be invited to the next level of competition, the USA Olympiad on May 2, 2000.

281,011 students from 5,162 high schools nationwide participated in the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) formerly called the American High School Mathematics Examination. From that group only 10,462 students qualified to take the AIME.

To qualify for the AIME, Albert scored 112 and Andrew scored 120 on the American Mathematics Competion.

Ingenuity at Poly eleventh grader Albert B. placed first among Poly students taking the American Mathematics Competition.
