PRESS RELEASE

April 4, 2000

In their first stab at entering the Second Annual Mathematics Tournament, conducted by Johns Hopkins University, Ingenuity at Poly mathematics students garnered 4 trophies. Albert H., of Ingenuity's 9th grade, took first place in Individual Geometry and Andrew K., also in 9th grade, placed first in Algebra.

Participants in the April 1st competition included 150 students from Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Montgomery County public and private high schools.

Ingenuity's Math Club moderator and mathematics teacher is Dr. Michail Goldenberg.

    • 1st Andrew K (9th grade). Andrew was the only Ingenuity at Poly student to take the Algebra test.

    • 4th Team 3: Raymond Y. (9th grade), Taavon P. (9th grade), Michael K. (11th grade), Andrey Z. (11th grade)
