![]() 6TH GRADE SUMMER EXPLORATION CAMP Description: Students will gather at their assigned middle school each day to meet Ingenuity teachers and classmates. The daily program will involve students in lots of fun-filled outdoor activities to encourage thoughtful consideration of the earth and its resources. Students should wear hats, sunscreen and old clothes because they are going to get dirty, climbing and walking along the water or maybe in the water! CHESAPEAKE BAY FOUNDATION: Each Ingenuity class will attend a one-day activity. Some classes will sail a skipjack on the Chesapeake Bay. Other classes will study along Meredith Creek. All will learn about some of the marine life of the Bay and its tributaries as well as conservation important to the health of the Bay.
A one-day activity of outside challenges focusing on confidence building and goal setting. Students will wear hard hats and use friction devices for belaying and rappelling.
A day of activities to include biking, observing birds, touring the bird and nature museum, gardening and composting, plus some time for leisurely outdoor reading. Students are invited to bring a book of their choice.

The Ingenuity science and mathematics teachers will chaperone students. Where necessary, teachers of other subjects may also act as chaperones. Transportation will be by yellow school bus. The schedule of the activities for each class will be sent at a later date. Health forms must be completed and returned to the Ingenuity office by the deadline in order for students to participate. The health forms will be sent at a later date. Students are to bring lunch with two drinks each day and dress appropriately for the weather.
