INGENUITY SUMMER EXPLORATION CAMP 2001

AUGUST 7 to 9, 2001

Description: Students will gather at their assigned middle school each day to meet Ingenuity teachers and classmates. The daily program will involve students in lots of fun-filled outdoor activities to encourage thoughtful consideration of the earth and its resources. Students should wear hats, sunscreen and old clothes because they are going to get dirty, climbing and walking along the water or maybe in the water!

A DAY AT THE SCIENCE CENTER

We will visit the observatory to make solar observations, participate in a planetarium program, and participate in other space and earth science activities.

A DAY ON THE WATER

We will board a sailing vessel with the Living Classrooms Foundation and trawl for marine life, conduct water quality tests, use weather-monitoring instruments, and learn how to navigate on the water.

A DAY AT OUTWARD BOUND

Students will have the opportunity to challenge themselves while developing teamwork skills on a ropes course that includes a rock climbing wall.
