Dr. Leola Henry is an accomplished Scientist and Director of Innovation at McCormick & Company with over 20 years’ experience in the Food Industry. She has experience building and leading highly effective teams to drive business growth. She is a proven leader who combines her technical and business skills to deliver results. Dr. Henry has been mentored by many and has served as a mentor to many.
She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and helping others to reach their goals. Dr. Henry and her family immigrated to the United States from Jamaica. She was the first in her family to earn a college degree. She received her B.S. in Food Science from Rutgers University. After completing her B.S. she moved to Battle Creek, Michigan to join the Kellogg Company as a Food Technologist. She left Kellogg’s to join a consulting firm in New Jersey and developed a broad portfolio of products for key customers. She then went on to earn her M.S. in Food Science from North Carolina State University. Dr. Henry returned to corporate life by joining Kraft Foods in Tarrytown, New York where as a Food Scientist, she led the product development of Dessert Mixes. After 4 years at Kraft, she returned to North Carolina State University to complete a PhD in Food Science. Research she conducted for her Master’s and Doctorate degrees led to her authoring multiple publications in peer reviewed journals.
Leola and her husband, Peter, have two daughters.
