Ingenuity Scholars Receive Fellowship
PROGRAM SELECTS 41 MORE STUDENTS, EXPANDS TO BALTIMORE
The fifth – and largest – class of high school students to participate in a fellowship program that enables them to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) was announced today by the Sandra Lee Heyman Foundation.
The 41 new fellows are from 12 high schools in Montgomery County and Baltimore, MD, including 7 schools new to the program and a home-schooled student. Among the new schools with fellows is the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, associated with Baltimore’s Ingenuity Project, an advanced math and science instructional program with the mission of preparing and launching the next diverse generation of nationally competitive STEM leaders from Baltimore’s city’s public schools. The 18 month Fellowship consists of three main components that are meant to facilitate Fellows’ exploration of STEM careers in the real world. Each component is meant to be complementary and additive to the Fellows’ academic pursuits.
