Martin Orellana-Guzman has been recognized as a 2016-2017 National Hispanic Scholar.
Each year, the National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP) honors more than 5,000 academically outstanding students from the more than 250,000 Hispanic/Latino juniors who take the PSAT/NMSQT. Approximately 250 of the top-scoring PAA student from Puerto Rico are also included. Students with a cumulative junior year grade-point average of 3.5 or higher are designated as Scholars.
Ingenuity senior Alex Hilger and his family started LiDAR Drone Services, LLC, an aerial surveying company, as a result of his 2 year Ingenuity Research Practicum. As part of the project, Alex obtained an FAA pilot’s license and won numerous aviation science awards, including one from Yale. Recognizing his research, the American Institute of Aeronautics (AIAA) invited him speak at their annual convention at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab.
Ingenuity senior Benjamin Grove won the Northrop Grumman’s Engineering Scholarship Program – the only student from Baltimore City.
