Dr. Nicole Rosen joined The Ingenuity Project in June 2018. She helps high school students identify their research interests, find lab placements, and oversees research practicums.
Prior to joining Ingenuity, Nicole was teaching at the college level and working at a community outreach, research, and evaluation center. From these work experiences, she brings a strong background in research, writing, and teaching. By utilizing various teaching strategies, such as reading, field trips, videos, in-class activities, writing assignments, and guest speakers, she is able to help her students reach their “ah ha” learning moment.
Dr. Rosen has her MA in Sociology, with a concentration in cross-cultural studies. Her Ph.D. is in Sociology with a concentration in gender studies and criminology. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies and is a certified mentor and mentor trainer through The National Mentoring Partnership.
In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family and friends, running, crocheting, or reading. Her favorite books include The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey, Sidewalk by Mitchell Duneier, Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, and Sisi: Empress on Her Own by Allison Pataki.
