Jocilyn began her role as Dean of Middle School Student Engagement in 2019. Prior to this, she was Ingenuity’s Admissions Coordinator. Jocilyn holds a deep passion for youth in the field of both public education and mental health care. Her professional interests are guided by her background in human services and social work. These interests include advocacy, equity in the public school system, community organizing, early-intervention programs that promote literacy in under-represented communities, and championing mental health care in urban communities.
Jocilyn is an alumna of Coppin State University where she holds a Bachelor of Science degree. She also has a Master of Social Work degree from Morgan State University with a concentration in Urban Children, Youth, and Families.
In her spare time, Jocilyn enjoys working on various DIY projects and spending time with her children and husband. Jocilyn has also taken a huge personal interest in promoting food allergy awareness. Her other interests include going to museums and learning about other cultures.
