Justin moved to Baltimore in 2006 as a Teach for America Corps Member after graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in civil engineering. He first taught Algebra at Northwestern High School and, after earning a Master of Arts in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University in 2008, continued to teach math and science at Mountain Christian School, Afya Public Charter School, and Mount Royal Elementary/Middle School. In 2013, he was recognized by Baltimore City Schools as a model teacher and he has consistently led students to significant academic growth. In addition to his teaching duties, Justin also served as the Math Counts count at Mount Royal. Additionally, he is a certified ESOL teacher.
Justin and his wife are actively involved in the Reservoir Hill community. He enjoys taking his daughters to the park, zoo, and gymnastics lessons and he loves camping, hiking, and outdoor adventures.
