Kia was a microbiologist for Baltimore City Department of Public Works Water & Filtration Plant and worked as a pharmaceutical sales rep for Abbott Laboratories before beginning her career in science education. With over 15 years of STEM education experience, Kia focuses on cultivating and maintaining lasting relationships with community partners, developing and planning professional workshops, and curating and developing science curriculum. Kia has always had a passion for science, health, beauty and well being which led her to own and operate a day spa that provided skincare, body treatments and massage. She currently sits on the board of BmoreSTEM, a collection of organizations and individuals committed to developing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) related opportunities in Baltimore.
