Mariella was a high school math teacher for 14 years before moving to Baltimore in 2006. She taught math in two of Baltimore City’s middle schools before joining Roland Park in 2011. In 2015, she became part of The Ingenuity Project teaching math in 6th grade.
She completed her bachelor’s degree (Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education- Major in Math) at Philippine Normal University and her master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Notre Dame of Maryland University.
She believes that the steps taken to solve a problem are equally important as the answer to the problem.
She enjoys visiting theme parks because she loves to feel the G forces in roller coaster rides!
